For a startup that needs to find buyers as well as send sequences, Growth Fuse is a strong Outreach alternative, with plans starting at $79/mo per product. Apollo.io, Lemlist and Instantly are cheaper options if your team mainly wants email and multichannel sequencing on a list you already have.
Startups rarely use everything Outreach sells. Use these criteria to narrow the field before you book demos.
Prices below are from each vendor's own pricing page on 15 October 2026, and they can change. The "best for" column is how the cited comparison pages describe each tool.
| Tool | Best for | Starting price |
|---|---|---|
| Apollo.io | Data and sequencing in one platform | $49/user/month billed annually |
| Lemlist | Small teams focused on personalization | $87/user/month billed annually for the Multichannel plan |
| Instantly | Scalable cold outreach, lead generation, and automated email deliverability | $47/month on the Growth plan |
| Expandi | LinkedIn-first outreach | $99/month; $79/month billed annually |
| Growth Fuse | Finding buyers asking for recommendations on Reddit, X and LinkedIn, then calling them | Plans start at $79/mo per product |
The table mixes two kinds of tools. Apollo.io, Lemlist, Instantly and Expandi mostly replace Outreach's sequencing. Growth Fuse works earlier in the funnel, so it can replace the lead list and the first calls as well.
Growth Fuse learns your business from your website and monitors social threads for high-intent buyers. It drafts replies you approve and builds prospect lists with decision-makers and phone numbers. Its AI dialer then calls leads, handles objections, books meetings and texts a booking link. A team calling line and call rehearsal are built in.
This suits founders and small outbound teams who do not want to stack several lead tools. If your reps already have a clean list and only need sequences, a cheaper sequencer from the table may be enough.
Close is worth a look for call-heavy teams. Close lists its Essentials plan at $49 per user per month billed monthly. Close includes a power dialer on its Growth plan. Close includes a predictive dialer on its Scale plan.
The usual reasons are cost, setup effort and reliance on manual work. If managers rely on Outreach to forecast revenue and oversee rep activity, a lightweight sequencer is a poor swap.
Apollo.io also has a free plan, plus a 14-day trial. Of the paid plans above, Instantly lists the lowest entry price at $47 per month on its Growth plan. Cheap sequencing still needs a source of leads, so count the cost of data too.
Expandi's comparison calls Salesloft the closest enterprise alternative to Outreach. That makes it a like-for-like move for a large team, but it offers little relief on cost or admin work for a startup.
Not always. If your buyers are already asking for recommendations in public threads, replying to them and calling the best leads can produce meetings faster than cold sequences. Many teams run both, with a sequencer for volume and a tool like Growth Fuse for high-intent buyers.
Automated reply tools get accounts shadowbanned and comments removed because platforms detect posting patterns, not post quality. Here is what triggers it and the draft-only workflow that avoids it.
